Mission Statement: (See Web Site For Updated Information)
Hospice of the Chesapeake improves the quality of life for those in our communities experiencing advanced illness or bereavement through hospice and other palliative care, compassionate support and education.

Volunteers are committed to serving our patients and supporting their loved ones. With compassion and respect, our volunteers play a vital role, whether visiting patients, supporting caregivers, serving as a counselor at our grief retreats, planning a fundraiser, or helping in our office or resale shop.

Volunteers must be at least 18 years of age, have good listening skills and desire to be a part of a community-based, non-profit, Medicare and JCAHO accredited hospice. Those wishing to have direct patient contact must complete a 21 hour training course offered, at no charge, in the fall and spring at both our Annapolis and Landover offices. All other volunteers are matched with opportunities, either on-going or as needed, which fit their schedules.
